Kontoor Brands is currently seeking a Corporate / Senior Counsel, Technology & Privacy to provide legal advice and support to the digital/e-commerce, information security, marketing, and technology aspects of our business. This role will serve as the legal partner to multiple business teams and will collaborate with internal stakeholders to enable them to understand and assess risks and make informed business decisions. The Corporate / Senior Counsel, Technology & Privacy will be responsible for managing Kontoor Brands’ Privacy Program and all associated legal work, including privacy policies, consents, notices, assessments, and compliance in applicable jurisdictions. In this role you will serve as the subject matter expert in privacy and data protection and the legal point of contact for technology contracts.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel to Kontoor business units, including the digital/e-commerce team, information security, marketing, and technology teams
- Assist in the shaping and management of Kontoor’s Privacy Program
- Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable data privacy laws and regulations
- Reviewing, analyzing, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of agreements
- Communicate with business partners; sees and obtain advice of other counsel
- Exercise discretion in handling sensitive and confidential matters
- Maintain consumer-facing privacy policies, notices, and consents, and internal privacy policies, standards, processes, and procedures
- Review existing activities, policies, and procedures, and perform privacy impact assessments and privacy-by-design guidance to ensure compliance with the ever-changing landscape of privacy laws and regulations
- Collaborate with the Information Security team on cyber security policies and procedures, vendor assessments, as well as ongoing privacy and security training and awareness activities
- Manage outside counsel, as needed, in an effective and efficient manner
- Work in parallel with other members of the Legal team in multiple regions of the world to provide strategic direction, while aligning the legal activities with recognized best practices
- Stay current on relevant laws and regulations that affect the company’s operations, including data privacy laws and regulations in domestic and applicable international jurisdictions
- Assist with additional projects and perform additional duties, as requested
Requirements:
- JD (Juris Doctor Degree)
- Admitted to practice law and in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar/jurisdiction
- 4+ years legal experience, with an emphasis on privacy, data protection, and information security
- Demonstrated business acumen and ability to evaluate issues from both legal and business perspectives with a practical, business-oriented approach balancing both business and legal implications. Corporate / Senior Counsel, Technology & Privacy

- Experience with cloud computing and software-based products
- Experience with technology-focused commercial contracts (e.g., SAAS and License Agreements)
- Experience working in a global consumer goods business
