Full-time Staff Web Engineer, Reservation Management | Airbnb | Remote (United States) -Job ID- 69

The Reservation Management team is pivotal in managing essential booking and post-booking processes within the Guest and Host Product. This team oversees complex engineering systems supporting Reservation Details, Order Management, and Alterations, among other functions. Additionally, they handle the booking flow for the Experiences product and are tasked with exploring new product areas, executing these initiatives comprehensively.

We seek an engineering leader who can advocate for the web community within the team while overseeing the complete development of key products. We value experience in establishing scalable practices that guide web development across multiple products. The ideal candidate will have proven ability in collaborating closely with Design partners to quickly ideate, prototype, develop, and deliver innovative product experiences.

The Impact You Will Have:

Collaborate with cross-functional partners (design and product) to explore, define, and develop new product experiences, from ideation to large-scale implementation.
Design and implement scalable web practices within the Reservation Management team.
Serve as a champion for the team’s web community, mentor engineers, and elevate the overall team culture.

Lead investments in new technical capabilities that drive product innovation and exploration.
Create prototypes to validate concepts, considering long-term impacts on technical design and architecture.
Transform prototypes into high-quality, scalable, and maintainable production code through iterative development.
Write unit and integration tests, and review code from others.

Your Expertise:

Over 10 years of industry experience.
Strong expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Typescript.
Extensive experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Preact, Angular, Next, Vue, or Meteor.
A passion for delivering products from start to finish: from ideation, planning, and scoping to implementation and A/B testing.
Deep understanding of frontend architecture and enhancement of build processes (npm, yarn, webpack, parcel).

Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers, setting and driving best practices for iOS client development.
Personal projects that demonstrate technical excellence and a sense of product.
Willingness to work outside your comfort zone and motivation for personal growth.
Interest in web community innovations.
Nice to have: demonstrated design and UX sensibilities.

Your Location: Remote – USA

This position is US – Remote Eligible. The role may require occasional office work or attendance at offsites, as agreed upon with your manager.
