Worthington Industries (Tempel Steel) is seeking an entry level Accounting Coordinator to join our team in our Chicago facility. Well established and growth-oriented company with a lot of opportunity for growth! This role will be hybrid with 4 days remote and 1 day in the office. Seeking local candidates.This role will assist Chicago Manufacturing Operations with the following

  • Create parts in Oracle following system nomenclature and material specifications
  • Set up the cost structure for parts in Oracle (formula, route, recipe)
  • Assist with implementation of standard procedure among departments for part requests
  • Update costing for purchased parts and intercompany transfer parts quarterly
  • Establish standard costing for steel wide coils
  • Review cost details after part structure creation for accuracy
  • Review cost structures on a regular basis and make changes, including obsoleting and adjusting net weight, as requested.
  • Month-end close process
  • Account reconciliations
  • Investigate and resolve issues and errors with structures that impact cost and/or production
  • Understand inventory cycle and impact of inventory on financial statements
  • Assist with SOX compliance and internal/external auditors as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Additional Skills

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with Excel experience
  • Experience with an ERP system is a plus but not required (Oracle preferred)
  • Strong analytical and financial analysis skills and strong attention to detail
  • Interest in production and production flow
  • Demonstrates the willingness and competence to work in multiple functional areas
  • Plans, prioritizes, and organizes work effectively to produce measurable results
  • Takes ownership for own self-development
