Internship Social Media Designer, Content Creator- Disney Publishing

About the Role & Team

The Social Media Designer, Content Creator for Disney Publishing is tasked with producing engaging content for Disney Publishing’s social platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Snapchat. This role involves crafting social media campaigns, editing videos and photos, designing motion graphics, and creating global toolkits. You’ll collaborate closely with the Social Media Manager and Content Strategy team to deliver exceptional work and foster strong connections with business partners, authors, and illustrators.

Disney Publishing encompasses a range of Disney franchises and imprints, such as Hyperion, Disney Press, National Geographic, and Lucasfilm. The Social Media Designer will report to the Sr. Manager of Design at Disney Publishing.

This is a part-time position.

Each day as a Social Media Designer brings new challenges! You might:

Become well-versed in the latest social media strategies and platform features, ensuring best practices for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and more.
Create and execute organic social media content for Disney Publishing across various platforms.
Collaborate with creative supervisors and marketing managers to produce diverse social media designs, including motion graphics, short videos, static digital assets, and animated GIFs.
Transform project details and creative direction into innovative concepts or design solutions.
Work independently with production teams to develop graphics that meet technical specifications.
Ensure high levels of efficiency, consistency, accuracy, and creativity.
Maintain an organized file system.
Partner with colleagues and teams to establish processes that enhance efficiency and performance for key stakeholders.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Skilled in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, and Illustrator.
Creative thinker with keen attention to detail.
Capable of presenting a portfolio that showcases creativity and design skills, including typography and layout expertise—demonstrating talent in design, composition, and color.
Ability to handle time-sensitive tasks while maintaining quality in a fast-paced environment.
Motivated, independent, positive, receptive, and enthusiastic work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Keynote.
Familiarity with the JIRA system.

Education

College degree preferred.
