As a Field Service Technician, you will play a vital role in the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of packaging machinery and equipment. You will provide exceptional technical service, ensuring packaging equipment operates efficiently in various production environments.

 

 

This position requires travel to client locations and a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems related to packaging equipment.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

– Install, maintain, and repair packaging and container manufacturing equipment, including conveyor systems, labeling machines, sealing machines, and palletizers.

– Perform troubleshooting on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to ensure proper functioning of equipment.

– Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.

– Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals for diagnosing and repairing machinery.

 

 

– Train customer personnel on the proper use and maintenance of packaging machinery.

– Provide remote and on-site technical support to clients, ensuring timely resolution of equipment issues.

– Document service activities including installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance using service reports and logs.

– Ensure safety compliance and follow industry standards and best practices while working on-site.

– Travel extensively to customer locations for installation, service, and support (up to 75%).

 

 

Qualifications:

– High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.

– 3+ years of experience as a Field Service Technician, preferably in the Packaging or Manufacturing industry.

– Strong understanding of PLC programming, troubleshooting, and repair (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.).

– Mechanical and electrical aptitude with experience in packaging equipment.

 

 

– Proficiency in reading blueprints, electrical diagrams, and technical documentation.

– Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

– Strong customer service and communication skills.

– Ability to work independently and travel frequently to client sites.

– Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
