JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Description of responsibilities and minimum qualifications:
– Assist with planting, pruning, and harvesting of apple and peach trees
– Conduct regular maintenance tasks to ensure optimal tree health
– Participate in fruit assessment activities and sample preparation in the lab
– Learn and apply lab techniques for analyzing soil and fruit samples
– Contribute to ongoing research projects related to sustainable orchard practices
Requirements:
– Interest in sustainability and tree fruit production
– Driver’s license and means to commute to the orchard at Rock Springs
– Willingness to learn and work in a dynamic outdoor environment
– Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
– Penn State undergraduate student in good standing
